I think, xzins, that I agree with you, or disagree, depending on what it is you're proposing. But the details aren't clear to me.
- If you're saying, "Then just stop paying for insurance," there's a problem there because employers aren't allowed to drop their insurance plan insurance under the HHS regulations. If you drop insurance, the HHS collects a huge annual fine per dropped employee. That, for instance, would cost Eternal Word Television Network approx. $600,000 PER YEAR. It could bankrupt our hospitals and universities. You're reeling under catastrophic fines, your institutiuon shrinks, cutails its operations, and is sooner or later (probably sooner) bankrupted. THE GOVERNEMNT HAS EFFECTIVELY SHUT DOWN YOUR INSTITUTION.
- And until the bankruptcy closes your doors forever, while your institution is not paying the insurance, your employees must all now, individually, purchase insurance under the present Obamacare law. That means that the burden has been shifted to each one of your individual employees, who will now face crippling fines if they do not pay for the morally tainted insurance.
- Plus, most big Catholic institutions are already self-insured. The law says they STILL --- as insurers --- have to offer their plan members free abortion pills (among other abhorrent services.)
So, now what?
I am honestly looking for a plan.

Since we are talking right of free exercise we engage in civil disobedience and refuse to offee insurance that includes morally abhorrent coverages.
