WASHINGTON (AP) A U.S. military investigation is recommending that as many as seven U.S. troops face administrative punishments, but not criminal charges, in the burning of Qurans at a U.S. base in Afghanistan in February, The Associated Press has learned.
U.S. military officials said the classified report and recommendations for disciplinary action against the service members involved were delivered to the Pentagon more than a week ago. They have been turned over to the Army and Navy secretaries. No final decisions have been made.
According to the officials, one Navy service member and as many as six Army soldiers could face nonjudicial disciplinary actions, which can range from a letter in their file to docking their pay or assigning them additional duties.

Moreover, as there is ABSOLUTELY nothing in the UCMJ or US Statutes which in any way, prohibit the burning of a "Qur'an" (intentional or otherwise)--or make it a "crime" or "offense--there is but one conclusion for this travesty of "justice:" Islam/Sharia (whereby to defame, insult, denigrate the "holy" psyhotic, murdering, pedarast "prophet," the ROP, or its objects is to practice) is being considered as trumping our Constitution...all in the name of placating, being "subservient to," and ameliorating the Islamists in Afghanistan as well as around the world.
As a Nam Vet I am beyond INCENSED over this recommendation and if even ONE of these individuals are "punished" there should be such a backlash by all Vets, their family and friends, as to make our reaction, exposing and oppostion to John Kerry in 04, pale by comparison.
Sad how PC our military has become.
I agree with giving them supplemental courses....on 1) how to completely burn that trash so that no proof exists, and 2) how to shut up about it.
For our leaders, I suggest a course consisting of teaching them to say, “I don’t give a smelly septic Obama about whether or not your offended. Shove it up your Mohammed.”
Well. I think it is scandalous to burn a Koran. I think feeding them to pigs is much better!!
Oh come on.
Why would YOU be surprised that our FIRST MUSLIM PRESIDENT protects his HOLY QUARAN?
You do know he is the equivalent of a Muslim Terrorist, don’t you?
Don’t you?
Could Americans be such fools that they don’t think anymore and let the PRESS do ALL of their thinking for them? What do you think Libya, Egypt and Israel is all about?
Oops, that’s “you’re”, not “your”.
In the spirit of Obamadork, I blame Bill Gates for the misspelling.
Those Men are welcome at my house for a nice cold one anytime
The rush to "justice" is disturbing, given the fact that Nadal Hasan's case has yet to go to trial.
That is an indictment of the current chain of command.
They should say they burned the Korans because it is anti-Gay.
Exactly.
Tens of thousands of Bibles were burned by the American military. Not even a news report on that.
Sounds like another minor incident of WORKPLACE VIOLENCE!
Military instructor suspended over Islam course

(Reuters) - The instructor of a college course that taught top military officers the United States was at war with Islam has been relieved of teaching duties and the course ordered redesigned to reflect U.S. policy, a military spokesman said on Wednesday.
The elective course at the National Defense University's Joint Forces Staff College included a slide that asserted "the United States is at war with Islam and we ought to just recognize that we are war with Islam," Pentagon officials said in April as they launched a review of the course.
Colonel David Lapan, a spokesman for the chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, said on Wednesday a review of the course found that "institutional failures and in oversight and judgment" led to the course being modified over time in a way "that portrayed Islam almost entirely in a negative way."
READ IT ALL!
This Administration (and sadly, the previous on under the "Compassionate Conservative") have/had NO (serious) intentions of combating that which is responsible for 99.99% of all the Terrorist activities throughout the World; they (both Dear Leader and Boosh) flatly refused to identify who and what it is (Islam and it's "true believers") which has been at war against us since the founding of our Republic.
Now why didn’t the defense think of that?
D’OH!
Seeing as the koran is such a filthy dirty hate filled book, it is unusable for even toilet paper. Burning is the only viable solution to ridding this planet of this devil worshiping hate cult.
Those who burned the koran, should be given Green awards for assisting in cleaning up the planet.
I think they all just need a good spanking with neckties held by coeds wearing see -thru lingerie.
Seven U.S. troops face administrative punishments.
Ok send them home for sixty days with no pay.
AKA R&R
Remember this is simply the recommendation by the investigating officer. The commander of these Soldiers is the one who will make the final call. I imagine it won’t be much more than a slap on the wrist. Something like 24 hours confined to post, suspended for 48 hours.
I could not recommend anyone to serve in the military now. Ridiculous ROE’s that can get you killed, an overbearing PC culture, gay pride rubbish, and an overbearing bureaucracy.
I’m thinkin’ God is really, really gonna let us have it: Psalm 4:2 “How long will you people turn my glory into shame? How long will you love delusions and seek false gods?” He is only patient for just so long...big ruckus over burning false doctrine, no ruckus over burning the Bible...upside down world we live in fer sure!
The same punishment metted out for those that burned the thousands of Bibles, sent to our troops.
Clearly the same “laws” apply to both books,....right?
