Sanford City Manager Norton Bonaparte [a black man] said in a Wednesday statement that he relieved Chief Bill Lee [a white man] of duty because he "determined the Police Chief needs to have the trust and respect of the elected officials and the confidence of the entire community Al Sharpton."
IMHO the defense should appeal if the judge rules in favor of proceeding to trial. “Beyond a reasonable doubt?” On present evidence, preposterous to think so. The publicly known evidence runs the other way.

There’s a huge difference between saying that “a struggle ensued” (passive voice) and demonstrating that a man intentionally committed a felony while expecting the imminent arrival of the police. Given that Zimmerman hasn’t been convicted of anything yet, and on present evidence won’t be - at least, not after appeal - it’ll sure be interesting to see the picture of the man who Mr. Bonaparte suggests can command “the trust and respect of the elected officials and the confidence of the entire community.”

Chief Lee should sue.

You make a good point.

If Trayvon was fearful that night, why didn't he call 911??? and if his girlfriend was fearful for him as she claims, why didn't she call 911 for him??? Someone who has already called 911 and knows the police are on the way is not going to instigate a fight.
