This is weird. Missouri US Senate candidate John Brunner donated $10,000 to a radical animal rights group. ReBoot Congress reported:
Republican US Senate candidate John Brunner appears to have once supported a radical animal rights group. According to the Brunner Foundations 2008 form 990-PF , the Foundation donated $10,000 to the Humane Farming Association (HFA). John Brunner and his wife serve as the two trustees of that foundation, so, does Brunner support the leftist agenda of HFA?
HFA is a radical animal rights group based in California. They work to limit or even outlaw the use of antibiotics and pesticides by ranchers and farmers

Don’t know all about this story or group but I, for one, don’t mind “limiting or eliminating the use of antibiotics in my beef, chicken or pork.”
STEELMAN IS A HOTTIE.
Same here. Quite frankly, I just want food in my food. But silly me, eh?!
Agree. How is it “conservative” to adulterate food?
Not on this side of the State.
yes. we sniffed this guy out pretty good. another rino poser.
However... I don't want any diseases that critters pick up from grubbing from the ground.
So, thanyouverymuch, I'll take the anitbiotics versus the nasty diseases meat can pass on.
I've made that value judgement based on facts as a food service professional. Your mileage may vary.

How is is 'conservative' to let people die of food poisoning or diseases that "adulterating" food can keep from happening?
Do a little research about food poisoning from about 1600-1910.
It's an eye-opener.
That and hand-washing are big health fixes.

Johnny’s got it right. Tks, big guy!! 8x

I'm big on safe food and feeding folks well.
Just pisses me off when folks that don't study talk about things they don't know about.
FDA now allows pork to be cooked medium rare. Because Trichinosis is pretty much gone.
We did that. Just like Polio is gone.
We 'poisoned' our children and now polio is gone.
Have to wonder what FDR would think about that.
Now that we know how to use it correctly... I wish they would give us DDT back... I could use some this year.

Yes, there’s been no bad consequence from antibiotics in meat. I eat meat without it and my family and I haven’t had food poisoning yet. I’m adult enough to take responsibility for cooking my meat and washing my hands. I don’t need the government or somebody who’s trying to ram together as many chickens as possible medicating my meat so they can water chill it in feces-laden water.
If you were that confident in your argument you wouldn’t need to bring up the polio vaccine, which is not what we are talking about. Any risk there is more than outweighed by the rewards, IMO.
Yes, it’s not like the processed chemical stew that Kraft, for example, peddles to kids as “food” has contributed to an explosion of obesity and Type 2 diabetes/s
Oh... I guess you prefer the WASTE PRODUCT that hits the FLOOR in giant meat processing plants, which is then collected and INJECTED with ammonium hydroxide gas.
AKA Chicken Nuggets. AKA 'filler' in your hamburger.
If you knew what they did to your food, and what they sell you as 'food' (don't even talk about what's in hot dogs), you would likely never eat processed food again.
Note that the HUMANE group referred to also fights against HORMONE usage on animals.
So... you don’t mind the HORMONES and STEROIDS that are given to animals to ‘fatten’ them up so that the companies make more PROFIT per ANIMAL ? And then you eat those hormones and steroids.
Now, I admit, even if GIVEN the claim (in the article) that this was a choice made by his kids, and even if some of what that group does is GOOD, he may still be a RINO.
I just don’t think that this ‘incident’ is any kind of PROOF.
One of the things they are working on is to get rid of ALL cages for chickens. Eggs are porous... eggs laying on the ground in chicken poop are NOT sanitary.
Food animals can't be slaughtered for meat right after being given antibiotics. There is a wait time of something like two or three months so that it's completely out of the animal's system.
I really haven’t seen much analysis other than a story slamming him for misrepresenting the facts in trying to smear Sarah Steelman.
He seems to not be gaining much traction.
