Here is more on Steelman, who I met and saw speak a couple of times less than a month ago:

Latest Poll Shows Sarah Maintaining Strong Lead!
Sarah Steelman is strongest GOP candidate; Leads McCaskill by 12 points
.
Great news! The latest Rasmussen Report statewide survey of likely voters in Missouri shows Tea Party Express endorsed U.S. Senate candidate Sarah Steelman with a 12 point lead over incumbent Sen. Claire McCaskill--leading 51% to 39%! Sarah has maintained the strong lead established in April's Rasmussen Report and also maintains the strongest lead of the three Republican primary candidates.

Liberal Sen. McCaskill is vulnerable as Americans are fed up with her strong support of Pres. Obama's efforts to grow the size and control of the Federal Government in Washington. McCaskill can not run on her record, but her large fundraising war-chest will go a long way in attacking and maligning her conservative opponent - former Missouri State Treasurer Sarah Steelman.

Tea Party Express Endorsed Missouri Senate Candidate Sarah Steelman
.
Sarah is the perfect candidate to replace Sen. Claire McCaskill, one of Washingtons most liberal senators and we need your support to make sure that she represents the Tea Party in Washington D.C.

The dems’ world begins and ends with govt. They know nothing else - nor do they want to. What else can be expected of control freaks and parasites?

U.S. Sen. Claire McCaskill said in an interview with the Quincy Journal that the Senate passed a budget in August in fact, we did better.
Claire, you did?? I think it was in a dream where the Senate and house had only Left wingers (Liberals, Marxists, Socialists and Communists) in it and King Zero the Kenyan passed a 100 % tax for people WORKING!!
Now, Sarah Steelman could improve not only the intelligence of the Senate, but the beauty of the Senate. She is good looking -- Claire looks like she is the ugly sister of Helen Thomas.
Please no pics of Helen Thomas!! ;)

Steelman is NOT the presumptive Republican nominee for the position of U.S. Senator from Missouri. She is engaged in a tough primary battle between Rep. Todd Akin(R) and a local businessman named John Brunner.
She is by no means a shoe-in for the primary win. Akin is immensely popular in St. Charles county (western part of St. Louis) where he has been the 2nd District congressman since 2001. He is typically scored ideologically as a far-right Republican which plays well in St.Charles - Missouri's largest conservative enclave. You don't win St Charles, you don't win the primary no matter how popular you may be in Jefferson City. Akin's GOP rivals are portraying him as an "Establishment" Republican although that seems to have little resonance around here.
Brunner is a former Marine officer and CEO of Vi-Jon, a private-label personal care products manufacturing company founded in 1908 by his grandparents (Germ-X hand sanitizer is their biggest seller although they manufacture over 6,000 different products). He is the "anti-establishment" candidate and well-funded.
The upshot is that any of the three would be a vast improvement over Air-Claire, but after they get done busting each other up over the primary they'll have precious few resources remaining to take on the insanely funded and experienced McCaskill. Even though Missouri broke for McInsane (barely) in the general in 2008, St. Louis and Kansas City inner-city Dim fraud is rampant and well organized. As a matter-of-fact, it was her shenanigan's with the polls in St. Louis city that put her over the top in her defeat of Jim Talent in '08.
The inability of the MO GOP to rally around a single candidate (Akin is the best of the lot, in my estimation) probably spells doom and will guarantee another 6 years of this woman in the Senate, unfortunately.

Yes they can be this out of touch, assuming of course they were ever in touch to begin with. What the letter to your local paper should say is something to the effect that today's DemocRat party is way, way past the passive socialism promoted by FDR to the point it is killing the golden goose. Stirred ‘em real good here locally!
