You never begin a sentence with “And”. It’s a rule.
It's not a rule, it's simply a guideline. Stylistically, its use can be defended from time to time, though it's not something I would use too often.
The Bible is full of sentences that begin with "and." This seems to occur more in the Old Testament books translated from Hebrew and not so much in the New Testament books translated from Greek.
It is a stupid rule to which noöne with discernment pays heed.
