Why Microsoft's Surface Tablet Shames the PC Industry
Hyperbole much?
Can it make a hoagie?
Looks pretty cool and has received some great reviews. I have a buddy high up the food chain @ Microsoft who says availability won’t be until October.
Gee, another Microsoft device that will need security upgrades every two days, not to mention the OS will be outdated every year requiring a total upgrade ... another Microsoft money sinkhole.
Interesting hardware, but very hard to evaluate until its cost, speed and battery life are known.
Contrarian view: Early Facebook investors don’t like it = buy MS stock!
It looks interesting, but their big mistake is releasing it with Windows 8. By now, most people just assume W8 will be unusable on release and are planning to wait for the next release, so they probably won’t be in a hurry to rush out and buy this. If that causes poor sales, is MS willing to wait it out until they can put out a W9 tablet?
Looking forward to owning one upon release. I have an iPad 1 and I’m ready to get free of the Mac way, but really like a tablet.
The MS Superficial may be available late Fall 2012 and the Pro in early 2013. When Apple has a major announcement, they say "And it's available starting today.". MS needs to learn this trick.
“With its new Surface Tablet, Microsoft didnt just break the mold. It smashed it into a million little pieces, chucked them all into the furnace and set the temperature to obliterate. There really is no precedent for what Microsoft did this week. What was once recognizable is gone. The expected is no more. There are no rules, only supply and the possibility of demand. “
Only a complete idiot could have written that.
Bwahahahahahahha
Be sure and get your Windows 8 update....coming daily to you
I’m a novice. All I’m sick and tired of is buying a nice system that isn’t cheap and three years later I get errors both hardware and software.
But I get really pissed off about the constant upgrades and then the ones that won’t load. No real help from MS and the user boards are ridiculous.
My only Apple experiences using other’s systems weren’t much better.
Their timing bites.
A couple of days after Steve Jobs died, I bought an iPad in his memory—also because I decided that a pad would do everything I needed in a laptop. I prefer the user-friendly Windows environment... but I’m not going to go out and spend a few hundred dollars when I still have a perfectly good (albeit user-unfriendly) iPad.
... So can I install Linux on it?
So when will it be running Ubuntu?
Wow!! Not even available yet.
Umm How long has the ipad been out??
A convertible tablet/notebook with full desktop functionality was a giant niche waiting to be filled. It looks like Microsoft may have done it.
Regarding their hardware partners, I imagine that Microsoft will support them by keeping the price fairly high, at least initially, allowing them to develop their own comparable devices profitably. Businesses should be able to justify the cost, if it’s comparable to a high end notebook.
Why the premature publicity? Maybe Apple has something similar in the works. But Microsoft’s advantage is the business market.
I’m interested bump for tomorrow....
