That’s SOP here in Alaska, every time I’ve voted since the 1980s. Your valid photo id (drivers’ license or other state state or federal photo id) with address is validated against the precinct voter list.
I suspect they didn’t poll the voters in the cemeteries and mausoleums. Undoubtedly they were underrepresented in this poll.
If the bank wants a photo ID and a thumb-print to cash a check to get my own money....then voting ought to meet, at least, that hurdle,IMHO.
