We're Americans and we can do anything we put our minds to do.
Yeah, we're a little out'a practice with this national thing ... patriotism an' all ... but America with no microwaves and computers?
We'll jump across some friggin' kind of wires and fire them puppies back up.
America with no morning coffee?
Just get the hell out of our way.
Yep, like most self proclaimed "experts".
My father-in-law was in the nuke weapons assembly business for 40 years (he died in Dec. 2009). I was in the plant with him less than 3 years ago. I know some of his people. Capable engineers & craftsmen.
I don’t know who you are, but I like the way you think. Amen.
Follow the money. $10-20 billion based on a hypothetical scenario based on the 1962 Starfish Prime event. Supported by Department of Energy (that really adds credibility).
I worked with hypothetical EMP attacks starting in 1976 and continued with nuclear matters through the next 30 years. This included work with Defense Nuclear Agency, Defense Communications Agency, development of the Red Integrated Strategic Offensive Plan (RISOP), Connectivity Studies as a defense contractor, Comparative Post-War Recovery Study, etc. etc. So I do consider myself an expert. I have an engineering PhD. I left Department of Energy only two years ago when true scientific thought disappeared. Who is John Galt - he might be me.
I don’t think he’s full of shit, I know he’s full of shit.
In the government contracting business DOE was where you went for never ending funding. It seems even more true today.

If Iraq can do it, certainly we can do it: http://iraqslogger.powweb.com/index.php/post/3131/Photo_of_the_Day_Man_Battles_Web_of_Wires?PHPSESSID=c5aa4044714cf600c5a3785c5c8aefed
