I’ve got to admit, Panama has been pretty good at switching over to Red China’s side now that the U.S. can’t do anything for it (since we already gave them independence by sending gunboats into the Caribbean and telling Colombia to stand down, built the canal that became its lifeblood, cured yellow fever for them (mostly thanks to Cuban-American Dr. Carlos Finlay), built roads and hospitals, kept them safe during WWII and the Cold War, turned the Canal over to Panama as a gift, sent in the Marines to get rid of Noriega after his henchman cracked Billy Ford’s skull during a presidential election, and then allowed Panama to sell rights to the Canal’s operations to the Chinese). Good to know on whose side FReepers like you are.
