Adidas has sparked outrage and been accused of 'promoting slavery' by creating a new pair of trainers which have bright orange 'shackles' that fit around the wearer's ankles.
The clothing giant is under fire for its August scheduled release of the JS Roundhouse Mids, which many have compared to the devices worn by black slaves in 19th Century America.
The seemingly innocent promotional material, uploaded to Facebook earlier this month, asks: 'Got a sneaker game so hot you lock your kicks to your ankles?'

Made with slave labor in a slave country, to be worn by people who are a slaves to stupidity!
Well, if this product has any durability, it should at least make it easier to find the sneakers thrown over powerlines by simply looking for the owner still attached...
White slaves wore red shackles and oriental slaves wore pink shackles.
They need one that wraps around their head. The only shackles they have are on their own minds.
Actually I would prefer calling them the “Government slave” shoes. You work all day in them and the money you make goes to the government. Instead of “adidas” on the buckles it should say “property of US government”.
Despite all the hilarity around the controversy, this is one ugly-ass shoe.
Those are some seriously stupid looking shoes.
The standard issue Obama Chain Gang Acorn volunteer shoe.
Doesn’t anyone remember the “brother walk” back in the late 60’s and early 70’s? Every “cool brother” walked with a hobbled leg and a hobbled wrist.
The same thought occurred to me. My son is now 5 and still periodically comes home from playing without his shoes (or just one of them). Recently he came home in his socks, soaked and filthy, carrying just one of his shoes.
"Why did you take off your shoes?" - ME
"To play on Camdan's trampoline." - SON
"Why didn't you put your shoes back on when you were done on the trampoline?" - ME
"Because we had a water balloon fight after that and I didn't want to get them wet." - SON
"But you left your socks on and they are soaking wet." - ME
"I know." - SON
"So where is your other shoe?" - ME
"I don't know. We used our shoes for bases when we played baseball." - SON
"Son, we have bases in our garage. Why didn't you come and get them? How do you play baseball in your wet socks?" - ME
"It was to far to come back here and you would have been mad at me for being wet and not wearing my shoes." - SON
"So go get back to where you were playing baseball and get your other shoe." - ME
"Hank (Neighbor's dog) kept taking the bases so I couldn't find it." - SON
If these shoes come with a lock and key, I'd have to consider a pair depending on the price.
Wax lips?
It's either a spoof or some gay kinky stuff... hard to believe Adidas could be this lame. Then again with competing liberal thin-skinned freak-outs -it could be insulting to blacks if they really are being produced - or insulting to gays if people object to them being produced. Not a good idea to get between a liberal and a source of fresh pity...
