It’s a bad idea to announce the VP pick this early—do it at or just before the convention to keep interest alive. If it turns out to be Rubio, there is nothing lost by waiting—and what if Rubio makes a major gaffe between now and the convention? I’m still hoping that someone better than Rubio will be the pick. Rubio is too young...plus do we want a Mormon/ex-Mormon ticket? Someone with executive experience.

Yes there is something lost. Tens of thousands of votes he could garner early by getting a jump on the campaign season. If he makes a major gaffe before the Convention, then, the Convention can nominate someone else.
