Delegates Heading to Tampa Sue the GOP

The federal lawsuit, filed this week in U.S. District Court in California demands the delegates be freed to "vote their conscience" for presidential nominee at the party's August national convention in Tampa, Fla., rather than being "bound" to vote for a certain candidate, as many state party bylaws require, based on the primary elections and other delegate selection procedures. Courthouse News Service reports at least another 40 additional national convention delegates have asked to join the lawsuit which would bring the total to 160 Delegates.
Yet striking down party rules that bind candidates to vote in accordance with the primary process could suddenly open up the nomination to another campaign season, as presidential hopefuls could attempt to sway the elected delegates to their side, a potentiality Gilbert recognizes.

Obama is delighted! Let's have some more Republican infighting, instead of having them focus on beating Obama.

As I have always said, this election is the GOP’s to lose. If they keep up this crap, they will.

What did Romney expect after his scorched earth campaign? one of his staffers stated they not only wanted to beat Newt..they wanted to destroy him. Many of the Santorum, Newt and Paul supporters are not happy.
“The Republican National Committee and its chairman have been aiding the Governor Romney campaign for at least six months, the lawsuit asserts. The RNC and its chairman, defendant Reince Priebus, have
combined with a particular candidate with all of the aid the RNC can possibly, but improperly give
to obstruct, intimidate and harass delegates from voting their conscience.
Also I noticed that Sarah Palin made an interesting comment..it is at the end of the article.

oops that was Gilbert commenting on Palin. “If the judge rules in our favor, I wont be surprised if three or four new candidates, say Sarah Palin, jump in and say they want to be considered, Gilbert told Courthouse News. It will be the most interesting national convention in my lifetime if the judge rules for us on this.

They want to change the rules now? They want to ignore the will of the voters they represent?
They think they are democrats?

LOL they're going to whine about a rule change now?
The Michigan Republican Party (MRP) Credentials Committee voted 4-2 last night to give Mitt Romney both of the state's at-large delegates, State Policy Committee Chair Mike Cox told MIRS today.
Cox was one of two "no" votes on the committee which met via telephone, along with attorney Eric Doster The "yes" votes included GOP National Committeeman Saul Anuzis, a Romney supporter, and MRP Chair Bobby Schostak.
That would put the delegate split at 16 for Romney and 14 for Rick Santorum, after each candidate won 14 delegates apiece in those divided by Michigan's 14 congressional districts.
As MIRS first reported on Wednesday, the MRP was delaying a final decision on the delegate split until after consulting with attorneys.
Cox said that according to the MRP rules, Santorum and Romney should each get one of Michigan's two at-large delegates based on their take of the popular vote.
"I supported Mitt, but the vote was clearly wrong," Cox said of the Credentials Committee. "It's kind of like Third World voting. We published rules and then we voted to change the rules."
Because The Narrative Cannot Survive A Rewrite
And Saul Anuzis has been since thrown out of his national committee chair and replaced by a conservative. LOL

I bet someone has finally done some polls and see that a good percentage of conservatives are not voting for romney. Glad to see their might be a way out of the bad choices we have. Liberal one and liberal two.

Rules were changed in the middle of the primary that favored romney. What goes around comes around.

So we’re going to let a judge dictate how Repubs choose their candidates. Last time we let the press do it. Now lets let the court do it.
This is mischief, probably paid for by Soros. If it isn’t Soros, he has a bunch of people out there working for him for free.

It might be nice to have a conservative candidate. It might be nice to have a real convention. In a better time, these conventions weren't as scripted as a WWWE wrestling match.

I don’t even remember what it is like to vote for someone because I believed he/she was the best choice. Not with Bush, not with McCain and certainly not with Romney. Maybe I’m just asking for too much - you know, like a conservative candidate.
To: katiedidit1
The funny thing is that Mitt St. Jesus is going to share a Tampa hotel floor with a bunch of people who don’t like him much. Michigan got first choice VIP treatment and is loaded with tea partiers and Paul fans.

I agree with you. The non-gop-primary was nothing but a lovefest by the GOPe for Romney, with the media on the sidelines cheerleading. It would be nice to have a real conservative to vote for, hell it would be nice to have a candidate that wasn’t chosen by the political elite.
