Roger Ailes and Rupert Murdock are you listening???!!!
It sounded to me as if O’Reilly was not so succinctly suggesting the Captain should apply for a weather babe job at Fox so he can personally check out her approaching “front” and her peaks, valley and troughs on her personal meteorological map, so to speak.
Actually, O’Reilly’s staff or the blowhard himself missed a major point in this. Cpt. Mitchell was, maybe still is, a meteorologist for the Air Force. A number of her missions were aboard the Hurricane Tracker aircraft based out of Keesler AFB in Biloxi, Ms. Many times, Cpt. Mitchell appeared on the Weather Channel while flying in or through hurricanes. Not only did the Weather Channel benefit from Cpt. Mitchell’s position in the Air Force, but they used her position and capitalized upon it by airing story segments on the AF’s hurricane hunting mission. Cpt. Mitchell was featured in these segments. The obvious inference being the Weather Channel had an “inside track” on weather information vital to viewers by virtue of Mitchell’s expertise and position. No doubt the Air Force benefitted as well from a PR point-of-view.
It was not until NBC bought TWC that Mitchell’s bosses began giving her trouble. O’Reilly made the point and Mitchell agreed with this, but what was not stated is the fact that TWC upper management was being filled with NBC entertainment folks. One only has to look at TWC’s current programming to see that weather is no longer the primary product except where hurricanes, tornadoes and flooding can be used to entertain while appearing to inform. TWC has radically cut real weather forecasting and reporting except when it absolutely must. In place of what used to be its primary focus are entertainment shows produced by Al Roker. TWC is being turned into a frivolous “Today” show.
Fortunately, I can call up the military weather radar near my home to see real-time weather in addition to TWC’s “Weather on the 8’s” if I’m near a TV.
I hope Cpt. Mitchell wins her case and takes NBC to the cleaners.
I’d boycott NBC if I had a TV.
“Fox News needs to hire her QUICK!”
Yep!
She would fit right. She is good looking, smart and would be a great in house asset re news on the weather and the military.
The Fox could cancel their contract with the left wind Weather Channel.
She is probably a conservative and the left wing/pro global warming Weather Channel fired her for not buying into their Gorebal Warming BS.
Boycotted NBC a long time ago.
She was a hell of a rifle and pistol shot too. And very attractive (as was her sister) to boot. And speaking of boots, she could put one to a rowdy's backside, if need be. Those two were something else...sigh.
how about: She didn’t meet the height and weight standards set by the tv station for female anchorettes. aka too small boobs
