PICKET: Van Jones group uses NAACP style racism ad tactic against ALEC

Color of Change, a left wing attack group founded by former White House Green Jobs Czar Van Jones, is on a mission to smear the American Legislative Exchange Council (ALEC). ALEC is a 30 year-old non-partisan membership association for “conservative state lawmakers who shared a common belief in limited government, free markets, federalism, and individual liberty.” As a result of the organization’s successful assistance to lawmakers in state legislatures it has made them the target of liberal smear campaigns.

Left wing groups are attacking ALEC by intimidating ALEC’s corporate donors who have benefited from conservative organization’s work over the years. A number of these long time donors have fled ALEC after Color Change and their allies falsely accuse ALEC of racism. Below is a radio ad being played in New Jersey that scared away Johnson & Johnson from ALEC’s corporate donor list: Listen to ad (transcription below)

Liberals have expanded their campaign of intimidation and CONSERVATIVES MUST FIGHT BACK!

They lie and mischaracterize conservative causes and actions, and then overwhelm companies, such as J&J, with complaints.

They present their claims as though they speak for large groups or unions.

Are YOU going to sit there and take it?

It wouldn’t surprise me if Commissar Jones was a homeless bum 5 years from now.

Hope the gutless leaders of these business organizations who have abandoned support of ALEC under threat from the thugs associated with this effort will remember their actions of betrayal when the last vestiges of individual liberty and preservation of America’s constitutional principles have been eradicated from the American memory by the cadre of so-called “progressives” represented by Jones and the puppeteers who control him.

WRITE the same companies IN MUCH LARGER NUMBERS and let them know that ALEC has much more support than Van Jones.

Let J&J decide who they’re going to listen to and who’s business they want.
