Joan Rivers, who recently penned I Hate Everyone Starting With Me, doesnt generally veer into political territory, but made an exception in a CNN interview that aired Wednesday affirming that she does, indeed, hate everyone. Asked about her thoughts about the two presidential candidates, Rivers expressed a cynical outlook, deeming both President Obama and Mitt Romney idiots.
Responding to a question about how she feels about the two, Rivers promptly replied, Both idiots. She went on to elaborate on her blunt sentiments. The country is in serious trouble, she said and the eternal campaign that is the American political arena is harmful for the country.
How dare you spend two years campaigning, Rivers said, suggesting we take a hint from across the pond. They should do what England does. Six weeks to find out what everyone thinks before they vote for them for Parliament. That makes sense.
Two years? Rivers continued, First of all, the president: get into the White House and do your goddamn duty. And Mitt Romney. Two years you all hate each other, and now youre all going to come together and say, But we really love him?

“Her second marriage was on July 15, 1965[38] to Edgar Rosenberg, who committed suicide in 1987.”
From Wikipedia. I have a problem taking people seriously that drive their spouses to suicide.
She is indeed outspoken.
She puts everybody down, including herself.
Most condemn her for her plastic surgery, but she makes no bones about it. She admits it. She jokes about it.
If she choses to not be wrinked and saggy, then more power to her.
I think she is very attractive to be in her late 70’s!
I adore her!
When she ‘screwed over Johnny Carson’?

Get a grip. I don’t like her much, either, but she’s a comedian, and a Jew. As Jew, she won’t be worshipping Jesus. As a comedian she makes fun. It’s how comedians get paid.
I don’t agree that they are both idiots, but they both act like idiots from time to time, mostly at all the wrong times.
At last!! I have been waiting for Ms Rivers to share her valued opinion so I would be imformed and on the mark, politically!!!/s
Really, Joan? Since when is she even marginally bright?
She will do anything to sell her book, she be a ho fo shur.
One of the best all-time Obama Romney photos I have seen.
“Get a grip”
And that’s what I should tell my kids?
What you tell your kids is your business. I thought Islam was the only religion we aren’t allowed to insult. I guess I was wrong.
Well, if you get the meaning of my original post, the one on which you commented, you understand my response.
My family are the ones who rejected her, not I.
Kids won’t suffer mockery of their religion. They switch the channel.
Rivers can say whatever she wants, it’s still a free country, though you CAN bet she wont be making fun of islam, and that’s fine.
I still get to comment on her.

My family are the ones who primarily rejected her. Should I tell them to get a grip?

Yes. She mocked Jesus. You’re as thin skinned as a liberal.
I suppose it’s the 1900 years of Christian love that have made us Jews a bit insensitive about your Jesus.
You’re not clear. I infer that my family should listen to, without turning the channel, mockery, because you want them to pay back something?
You’re free to change the channel.
Thanks. I was wondering if I was allowed.
I doubt that. I was wondering if anyone is allowed to mock Jesus.
Free speech has consequences. It’s a philosophical point.
It does have consequences, and I generally don’t mock others’ religion, even Islam, although I will engage in theological debate in weak moments.
