giving indulgences to kill muslims. I'm sorry, but that is rot. There were no indulgences to kill Muslims.

Jerusalem had been ruled by Muslims for over 450 years The first Crusade was in 1096, yes 450 years later. I stand by my statement that this was to safeguard Christian pilgrims. will get back to you with a stiffer rejoinder :) tomorrow

I think it is more irony than offensive.

Not Rot! Rather, it is well known history.
A simple search of the Net will yield numerous books & articles that verify indulgences were granted by the popes during the Crusades. This is commonly known & acknowledged by both secular & religious researchers & authors.
The Oxford History of the Crusades can be found here: http://www.scribd.com/doc/63564336/The-Oxford-History-of-the-Crusades
It has numerous references to indulgences granted by the popes.
Please show me any documentation that refutes this fact.

yes, indulgences that if you die, your sins are forgiven. That’s quite different from what you said of indulgences for killing. There were no indulgences giving for killing infidels — at least on the Christian side.

“I have been an artist for 30 years.”
And I have been a human being for 61 years. Does that mean I have nothing left to learn about the human condition?
