I think he does have trouble and could lose an addition 5% of that vote due to several issues...the chief of which are his Gay MArriage Support and the idea that he has taken too much advantage of them. He may even be more severely impacted because of low turnout.
We need to encourage him in that belief, so that he perceives it at the very least and spends his money there.
I actually think it is so.

1) Get Obama spending more money than necessary because he thinks his base is impacted.
2) Maybe even encourage more minority voters to justifiably bail on him.

It does seem that the gay marriage issue is impacting his black base to some degree, doesn’t it? At least that is the impression I get from various reports and polls.
I hope those who oppose him on that issue can find the fortitude to overcome the racial attraction on election day.
The good news is that he (his handlers?) feel a need to protect and/or energixe the base. When they are doing that it takes time and money away from offense.
