Amazing that Chicago, with its average of 15-40 shootings over any given weekend, isn’t on this list.

Not so amazing. Chicago has a population about *four times* that of Detroit, for example. Thus a lower crime *rate*. There are many nice neighborhoods in Chicago with very little crime.

I grew up in the city of Chicago--in the city itself--and in my neighborhood, there was no crime whatsoever, none, in all my growing-up and young-adult years. It was a wonderful place to live. Of course that was several decades ago. But still, even now, there are large sections of Chicago with very little crime. And there are large sections that are like a war zone. You gotta know your neighborhoods.

that’s The Prez’s hometown. . . .

Not really. As someone who was born and raised in the city of Chicago, and lived there into my thirties, I do NOT regard that interloper from Indonesia as a true Chicagoan.

As there are in the greater Detroit area. As far as the murder rate is concerned, I'm still not buying it. Just this weekend 8 were killed and nearly 50 shot in Chicago. It does appear that there were two shootings in Detroit on Sunday with no fatalities.
