Just did a search and found that Kiowa warriors in 1871 attacked a wagon train lead by Capt. Henry Warren in west Texas.

I wonder if Capt Warren is an ancestor of Elizabeth?

The article here shows that a Harvard alumnus and her son are authentic members of the Kiowa tribe are speaking out against Elizabeth Warren for ethnic fraud by claiming that she is a Native American.

It would be ironic if Elizabeth is related to Capt. Warren of the infamous Warren Train Massacre.

Anyone one know if there is a connection?

If so, then it would mean that descendants of the Kiowa — who in 1871 overwhelmed a peaceful wagon train, shot victims in the face and burned people alive — are now criticizing Elizabeth Warren?

I’m in the middle of Bury My Heart at Wounded Knee which is the story of the 1860’s and on Indian Wars as told from the Indian perspective.

Reading he book shows a common thread precipitating these wars were the US Gov’t’s repeated violations of previous treaties, US Army slaughter of Indian women and children and the unscrupulous Indian agency administrators.

Samuel Elliott was burned to death. The savages chained him to the wheel of a wagon so he could not move, and then built a fire around his feet.
This type of torture was portrayed in a really good movie starring James Garner and Sidney Poitier, Duel at Diablo. The victim was played by a post-Gunsmoke Dennis Weaver.
