CBC (Congressional Black Caucus): Zimmerman acquittal could spark race riots

Race riots could ensue if George Zimmerman -- the shooter in the Trayvon Martin case -- is found not guilty of second-degree murder by a Florida jury, the Congressional Black Caucus' executive director allowed yesterday.

"I think a 'not guilty' verdict is extremely problematic in 2012," said Angela Rye, the Executive Director and General Counsel for the Congressional Black Caucus. She said, "I don't know," when asked what would happen in the event of an acquittal. "I know that folks have talked about race riots -- I don't know that. I think that we live in a day and age where people are educated enough not to do that. I know that his mother and his father have asked for peace, peaceful solutions, not repaying evil for evil, so I'm not sure. I think it would set us back . . . there's no value to racial violence or any other kind of violence."

Rye cited the media handling of the Trayvon Martin shooting as an example of racial bias. "To demonize a victim is always heavily criticized if it's a white woman, if it's a child -- but in this situation, this boy who was not alive anymore to tell his side of the story was quickly demonized, and that's where I take issue," she said.

I went back to the record about the King riots. I remember the whole debacle and it is hard to to realize it was twenty years ago. I do know that the MSM was absolutely culpable in much of this matter. The replays were shown literally hundreds of times.

For those that might want a little more background, it was one George Holliday who filmed the police arrest of King. He was an immigrant from the Argentine. Mr Holliday got 500 dollars from the local T/V station for the film. He later sued for more money. Ah, noble civic minded George.

The press played down the brutal permanent damage to truck driver Denny. Rarely shown as thugs dragged him out of his truck. A black citizen rescued him.

I sincerely hope and pray that "wiser heads will prevail". A threatened indictment of Sharpton and company might sober them. A fat lot they care about any Trayvon Martins out there. A fair chance things will blow over though. (Imho)

My husband grew up outside of L.A. He said the “riots” were nothing in the magnitude the media depicted them. He said they used camera angles to the maximum advantage to make them look much worse than they were. His father talked with an older black man who referred to the rioting group as “a bunch of young bucks” just wanting to stir it up. Yeah, damage was done, but the media is at fault for making it appear exponentially worse than it was.

With the MSM calling us and any opposition to communists racists, domestic terrorists and what have you, the weaklings (and there are many) will try to prove otherwise, therefore, they become hostages.

I know I have been harping on the MSM for ages, but it’s the most dangerous domestic enemy of all who are well armed with the brainwashing megaphones.

If we don’t succumb, the communist miscalculation of resorting to violence will save this Republic when we end it and knock out the MSM, period.

Rioting and violence is all they understand. It’s no wonder so many blacks gravatate toward the religion of pieces. Yeah, that sounds racist but that’s what I’m seeing more and more every day.

On a related note, yesterday I made the mistake of trying to watch FOX and remembered why I turned them off 4 years ago. Shepard Smith was all in a tizzy over the KKK wanting to adopt a highway and oooooooh! what if they wore their robes while picking up trash. I didn’t see any of the other FOX anchors on with him crying racist. But then racisism these days is a one way street. Ok, I’ll step down off my soapbox.
