Yes it is. But it is an all or nothing opportunity for Romney. Waiting in the wings for the left is not Hillary, but Cuomo in New York, who is burnishing his cred by tinkering with spending without resorting to major taxes. He’s sure to become the voice of the opposition in 2013, not the dickweed from Maryland. Romney is going to have only one chance to really cut spending and right the economy, and it will have to happen in his first year. If he does not, the Republican Congress will be swept out in 2014.

This is correct, economic instability leads to political instability (as in throw the bums out every 2 years), which leads to more economic instability etc.

Romney has a small window to show an improving economy, or he will be facing tough political headwinds from an impatient electorate. If he doesn’t deliver quickly the mood of the voters will then swing back to the Democratic parties solutions voiced by Hillary in 2016.
