Well, the Syrian government isn’t nice, and they have frequently been our enemy. But, as with the rest of the Arab Spring, the opposition seems to be even worse.
The explanation seems simple enough. They are Muslim terrorists, and they hate Christians.

Does anybody else see a pattern in the consequences of US interventions in Muslim countries? It seems like every time the US government intervenes - either directly or by covert support of government opponents - indigenous Christians get persecuted more vigorously by old regime’s opponents and, then, the new regime. Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Egypt, and now Syria.
What’s up with that?
