The Christians are paying the price for taking the side of the Alawites, the butchers now in power. Understandably, there is no good side to pick from there. If they sat on the sidelines there would be less feeling for revenge by the revolutionaries.

I agree - this whole “Arab Spring” was encouraged by Obama as his way of doing a little ethnic - or religious - cleansing of what he no doubt considers the lands of Islam.
Yes, displacing Christian populations, many of which predate Mohammad, is simply Spring cleansing.
Sunni Arabs don't need an excuse to slaughter Christians - they do it for pleasure, as long as it goes unpunished. The persecution of non-Sunni Arabs in Qusayr is merely an example of what happens when Sunni Arabs are free to do as they please, instead of being hobbled by an apostate Alawite regime that protects non-Sunni minorities. Ultimately, the cure for what ails the Christians in Qusayr is the mass deportation of its Sunni Arabs to a more like-minded country, like Egypt or Saudi Arabia.
My view is that the conventional wisdom among Democrats and Republicans in power, cheerled by think tanks on both sides, is democracy will cure all warts. The problem is that democracy in Syria entrenches our sworn enemies, the Sunni Arabs, in power. When was the last time you'd ever heard of an Alawite suicide bomber? Democracy doesn't make the Sunni Arab masses our friends - it just makes it easier for these troglodytes to act on their preferred policy of making war on us until we submit.
Hardly. Look at Iraq, Egypt, Afghanistan. It doesn’t matter. They are not mohammadens so they must leave or die. It’s as simple as that.
