The Obama administration has been widely criticized for its increased reliance on drone strikes to kill suspected terrorists in Pakistan and Afghanistan, but according to published reports, a plan is now in the works to harness tiny drones to spy on U.S. citizens. A 30-page memorandum issued by President Barack Obamas Secretary of the Air Force Michael Donley on April 23 has stated that the drones, some as small as golf balls, may be used domestically to collect information about U.S. persons. The photos that the drones will take may be retained, used or even distributed to other branches of the government so long as the recipient is reasonably perceived to have a specific, lawful governmental function in asking for them.

You doubters should be ashamed. Y'all thought President Obama was just wasting time on the course. He's actually protecting America.

California-based drone maker AeroVironment, which has been supplying the military with small drones, has developed its first miniature helicopter drone designed specifically for law enforcement.
You can hold it in your hand.
So lite, it can land on your patio roof, or hover outside your window, with high end video, and you'd never know it.

The vice president of civil aviation for the Aerospace Industries Association says that civilian use of UAVs is "going to happen," with the last hurdle being how to integrate the aircraft into the national airspace.
What is being developed now, has the diameter of a slice of bread.

Heh.. This reminds me of that scene early in the Bruce Willis movie, 'The Fifth Element', when the police raided that apartment building and there were swarms of little flying mechanical bugs going everywhere. I really enjoyed that movie.
