FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — The Texas Republican Convention has approved a party platform on immigration conceding that mass deportation of illegal immigrants isn't practical and calling for "common ground" to develop more-realistic strategies.

Here is the platform language passed:
IMMIGRATION
The Texas Solution – Because of decades-long failure of the federal government to secure our borders and address the immigration issue, there are now upwards of 11 million undocumented individuals in the United States today, each of whom entered and remain here under different circumstances. Mass deportation of these individuals would neither be equitable nor practical; while blanket amnesty, as occurred with the Simpson-Mazzoli Act of 1986, would only encourage future violations of the law. We seek common ground to develop and advance a conservative, market- and law-based approach to our nation’s immigration issues by following these principles:

1. Secure Our Borders – The U.S. Border must be secured immediately! We demand the application of effective, practical and reasonable measures to secure our borders and to bring safety and security for all Americans along the border and throughout the nation.

2. Modernize the United States Social Security Card – We support the improvement of our 1936 Social Security card to use contemporary anti-counterfeit technology. The social security card will not be considered a National ID card for U.S. citizens.

3. Birthright Citizenship – We call on the Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches of the United States to clarify Section 1 of the 14th amendment to limit citizenship by birth to those born to a citizen of the United States with no exceptions.

4. Create an Effective and Efficient Temporary Worker Program – A national Temporary Worker Program should be implemented to bring skilled and unskilled workers into the United States for temporary periods of time when no U.S. workers are currently available. Additional program requirements should require:

Texico rolls over...

Dallas Morning News:

Dallas Parkland Hospital leads nation in illegal immigrant births

Sherry Jacobson reports that 74 percent of the total 14,872 births at Parkland Hospital were to women who are believed to be in the country illegally. _______________________________________________________

That over 1000, illegal alien anchor babies per month, at just one Texas hospital.

Ya don't need to be a fortune teller to see what's coming for TX...Yuk yuk yuk.

In the state where Univisón’s newscast gets the highest ratings, the Democratic party is modeling itself after the booming part of the population.

I dont care if mass deportation is practical or not. I want my country back. I want my money, my culture, my lifestyle, my safety back. Lets try forced mass deportations for a year and reassess.

This is bullshit. President Eisenhower managed mass deportations. Where there exists will, Americans can do it.

The Texas Republicans are more concerned with bending to the demands of the construction and agricultural industries in that state than in abiding by Federal law. Those business sectors make large profits from exploiting illegal alien labor which drives down legal wages. This “platform plank” is evidence of that.

This is exactly why the United States is in such disorder. It is a situation driven by greed and dishonesty.

Applicants with prior immigration violations would only qualify for the program if they paid an appropriate fine

BEWAHAHAHAHAHAH

Bank robbers deserve equal treatment. They are just misunderstood. As are rapists, murderers, and drug cartels.

What is the answer to this situation; realistically? Even if we could deport all of them, they’d be back in a few weeks. I just don’t have any answers.

Build the fence, militarize the border to protect from illegal immigration, drug violence, purge illegals from Social Security/welfare rolls, Massive fines/jail for employers who hire illegals, NO EDUCATION for Illegals and deport any by force that do not leave of their own accord.

Problem solved. They won’t be back in any significant numbers as they face being shot at the border and canot live once/if they do manage to get across.

All doable. All within our power. We lack the will. Nothing more.

No benefits for illegals. Severe crackdown on employers who hire illegals. No need to deport as they will self-deport.

How in hell would they know, since they never did that?

State after state falls to government sponsored violent, costly open borders chaos.

Common ground means throw the stupid tax payers a bone, make um think their being tough, and keep those damn borders open for that illegal low wage labor.

Common ground=compromise conservative principles, to hell with the rule of law, as that only applies to the legitimate tax payers.

4. Create an Effective and Efficient Temporary Worker Program – A national Temporary Worker Program should be implemented to bring skilled and unskilled workers into the United States for temporary periods of time when no U.S. workers are currently available.

When no U.S. workers are available?

Someone tell these U.N. open border globalist frauds there are tens of millions of unemployed and under employed Americans.

But, no mistake, I’m totally cool with formal mass deportations.

I think one might has already showed up...

With suggestions like, We're helpless, we don't know what to do....Lets all be nice and find some compassionate "Common ground".

If this is the Texas GOP, then I suggest everyone down there not give this fraudulent leftist organization one red cent, as they'll lead you down the primrose path.

This sounds like something we'd hear in CA.

If they can’t work or get welfare it cannot ‘not’ work. No money means no rent. so without a job, food or place to live, they can turn to crime, which WILL guarentee massive backlash or leave.

They will leave. Assuming we can elect people who ignore liberals and do their freaking jobs.
