The Obama Administration has given a former director at the scandal-plagued Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (ACORN) nearly half a billion dollars to offer struggling Illinois homeowners mortgage assistance, a Judicial Watch investigation has found.
It means the ACORN official (Joe McGavin) will go from operating a corrupt leftist community group thats banned by Congress from receiving federal funding to controlling over $445 million in U.S. taxpayer funds. The money is part of a $7.6 billion Treasury Department program to help the unemployed or substantially underemployed make their mortgage payments.

Knowing what we know now after 3 years of Obama. Since half of Bush's second term was spent as a lame duck because of the 2006 election results, do you think this nation would have been better off today if Kerry had won in 2004?
I'm wondering if perhaps the American people would have thrown out Kerry after his first term and we may have won the Presidency in 2008. Just a thought.
Personally, unlike many here I was a BIG fan of GWB during his first term. His second term, however, he acted more like a liberal. Not as much got done (at least not as much for us conservatives).
Would we have Obama today if Kerry had won in 2004? And if we did, would things have been as bad as they are now?
So Bush was wrong then, we know that, everyone does.
“Remember, folks, that George W. Bush opened these floodgates....”
Obama has been in office for nearly 4 years. Period.
History would favor that we would still have Kerry in office and dems would be contemplating candidates for his replacement with Obama at the top of the list.
Yeah that makes sense. And I just remembered, we would have a different VP by now as Edwards would have had to step down at some point. Perhaps Obama would have been the next VP and well on his way to becoming the next President. That would be worse!
A strong possibility, but consider this alternative:
Edwards resigns (under pressure), Hillary becomes VP, and we have a Hillary vs. Obama redoux.
scary thoughts.
I'm no fan of GWB's second term but we must remember that the economy downturn began after the democrats won both houses in 2006. I know they were calling Bush's 4.7% unemployment rate "the worst economy since the Great Depression" and they continued that mantra daily for years. But it wasn't until Pelosi and Reid had won in November that any significant downturn really started.
If anybody opened the floodgates to us having Obama it was John McCain as our nominee.
And if you check out the accounting audit done by McGladry, it notes serious accounting errors. Among them, duplicate vendors in Accounts Payables leading to risk of misappropriation of funds. (you think?)
2 vendors in system 10 times or more
15 vendors 5 to 9 times
167 vendors listed 2 to 4 times
Boy would I love to know which vendors got multiple payments.
It is obvious that the rats use these programs as a slush fund to launder money and send themselves campaign funds. It’s criminal activity and it should be investigated as such.
I bet the government has 50 people that hand out money for each person that looks for fraud. No accountability and they like it that way.

Justice Roberts, Justice Alito (albeit after some arm wringing)
The State Dept has been useless for over 100 years, and the rest of the federal government has joined them in a fifth column to fund the defeat of liberty.
Someone who gets caught cheating on DoD contracting can get barred from doing business with the government - why does no one from the left ever get barred?
Bribes?
If Kerry had won in 2004, that might have led to a conservative awakening in 2006, somewhat like what happened in 1994. Further, even if the Democrats had managed to stonewall any attempts at reforming FannieMae/FreddyMac (as they did under Bush), at least they'd be stuck taking the blame for it. On the other hand, gutless RINOs might have let the Democrats blame the GOP, much as they do today, causing the country to get into just as big a mess as it's in today. Hard to say.
