So do I understand correctly that the unions only spent $4 million on a recall THEY initiated? I have a hard time believing that.

I suspect the extent of union contributions, (in-kind and financial) are not part of this equation.

We also hear speculation that busloads of out of staters from Illinois and Michigan voted just across the border, which happened to be the senatorial district of the Lehman / Van Haagen (sp?) race. It's the only Dem victory of the night, and is the most likely to have been corrupted, imho.
