Time the grand old party blue bloods, status quos were taught a lesson
________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________

I have an idea how to stop the “establishment candidate” from ever winning the nomination again. But, before I prescribe the cure, let me give the diagnosis.

First of all, we’re blaming the establishment for outsmarting us, Gail. They put up one person. We put up 10. And everyone of our candidates leave much to be desired as a quality candidate themselves. (But, we won’t go there now.) Why? Because the quality Conservatives (Palin, DeMint, Ryan, Rubio, West, Jindal....) did not run. Guess who’s going to be the nominee. We must take our share of the blame for this. We Conservatives proved this go ‘round that we are very divided ourselves. The Santorum, Bachmann, Cain and Gignrich forces tried to destroy each other every chance they had. Karl Rove and company loved it but our Conservative friends’ egos would not let anyone relent and say, “Look, lets all of us sit down and choose ONE Conservative candidate for the Primaries and to take on Obama in the Fall.” No, we chose to fight, bicker and destroy; and then after it’s all over, blame the establishment. How does the satirical quote go? “We have met the enemy, and he is us.” We Conservatives can be our own worst enemy. Let’s take our share of the blame and teach ourselves a lesson.

The true Conservatives and Tea Party folks need to have their own mini-convention a month before the Primary process begins, and settle on ONE conservative candidate and get behind him/her and support them and NOT divide up the Conservative vote between 10 people and let the RINO ride in to take the nomination as has happened ever since Reagan.

I know this all to well, we have it here every election in TN. 2 conservatives will run, and 1 moderate, neither conservative will back down even if one is polling less well, so we get the moderate...i.e. current governor Bill Halsam. And on the local level the gop will NOT run a candidate in a majority dem district, so we have no one to vote for. For the first time we have redrawn district lines, still I have no chance to vote out the demRATS who own the district for life.

I live in such a district and no chance to move out. House is paid for, and can’t get a fair price for it, or I would be moving out of Shelby County entirely, they can keep their demwits and high taxes and high crime rates.

It has to start some where, if our Founders had not started we would still be under British rule. Why not now? We are throwing our children’s futures away and their children’s with the lesser of 2 evil choices we are having to make.

One opponent with the Tea Party in tow is exactly how Dick Lugar was unseated in Indiana. Mourdock sensed weakness and entered the race. The Tea Party voters lined up behind him. Mourdock was not courted by and slated by the Tea Party. Mourdock just read the "tea leaves" and rode the wave of anti-incumbency. In short, it was an accidental Tea Party win. Time will tell if we were duped.

There are enough of us out here to change things but we cannot thrive if we are divided. The real question is how do you unite without formally organizing? If the Tea Party formally organizes, then we will become what we loathe about party politics today.
