The big difference between them is the MSM covers for the Democrats, and threatens the Republicans.
The dilemma for the old time Republicans, is that now the new media exposes a good bit of what the MSM would cover-up for the Democrats. The old Republicans are between a rock and a hard spot. If they go after the Democrats, the MSM will paint them as racist, partisan ideologues. If they do not, the new media will paint them as wimps. This did not happen before 1994, because the conservatives had virtually no media presence, which was why they were reliably in the minority.
The old Republicans are used to the MSM bossing everybody around. They see how the MSM destroys Republicans who get out of line, like Newt and Tom Delay.
Sometimes I think the Democrat party is just the political arm of the MSM.
Our job, in the new media, is to shine enough truth out there to push the old Republicans to do their job, and to protect them from the MSM, by showing how agenda driven the MSM is.
