Luka Rocco Magnotta was arrested in Berlin this morning, German police say.
The 29-year-old Canadian wanted for a horrific Montreal murder was arrested in an Internet cafe, according to the Bild newspaper.
The report comes just as French authorities said they were investigating the theory that Magnotta travelled from Paris to Berlin via bus.
German police spokesperson Stefan Rieldich told CP24 that a person recognized Magnotta and called police Monday.
Rieldich said Magnotta has been taken into custody and may go in front of a judge tomorrow.
Canadian officials are expected to travel to Berlin to take Magnotta into their custody in the near future.

If I wanted something to disappear forever I would send in via Canada Post.
I’m amazed any body parts at all were delivered.
Berlin?
That horrible wife of Bernardo should have been locked up for good too. I’m just glad they caught this disgusting thing. In a saner world, he should be offed, but just hoping they never let him out.
Apparently this “fella” used to post at DU:

Does it mean that the cool name ‘Luka Rocco Magnotta’ is available now for the taking?
Where did I hear that middle name before?
Didn’t Suzanne Vega write a song about him?
Yes, that is weird.
I see, I missed that.
You’re right, I missed that. As another poster said, where are the victims head, arms and legs? He probably disposed of them in another trash bag as they are a bit harder to “mail”.

LOL!!!! No kidding. :)
This guy wanted to be caught—apparently they traced his cell phone!
Please see my last post. You are both right—it really seems he wanted to be caught. Maybe there is some small part of his soul that wants to combat the pure evil in there. Who knows?
I speak French so I’ll post any info that I can get on any thread. It’s interesting he didn’t fight extradition.
