In order for a tyrant to control the people, he must first disarm them.

Chavez's cancer is in its last stage. He's a goner, sooner than later. His three trips to Cuba for its glorious medical efficacy didn't work out too well, to no one's surprise.
This ban on firearms and ammunition sales means that the next dictator is already chosen. It signifies that the populace will have no say or firepower one way or the other in the succession to the throne after Chavez kicks the black pinata.

Hugo trying to take as many Venezuelans with him as he can. What a curse he has been to that once great nation. That's what happens when you give the poor and the stupid the right to vote.
They vote for communists and con men that promise them money in exchange for more votes.
Sort of whats going on here in the USSA.
We're about 30 years out from being in the same place Venezuela is today.
The Founders didn't put a right to vote in the Constitution for a REASON.

Obama is jealous of his hero and mentor, Hugo Chavez.
