I'd like to see clarification or corroboration of the numbers. Congressional staff is better paid than it used to be, but it's hard to believe Pelosi's staff average is in the six figures. Perhaps this is just "leadership" staff or "senior" staff, however defined.

From this story (two years old!): Federal Workers earning double their private counterparts
"Federal civil servants earned average pay and benefits of $123,049 in 2009 while private workers made $61,051 in total compensation, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis. The data are the latest available." ederal civil servants earned average pay and benefits of $123,049 in 2009 while private workers made $61,051 in total compensation, according to the Bureau of Economic Analysis.
