Probably the reason he was not a Mau Mau. Plus old man Obama was a Muslim, not a religion common amongst the Kikuyu ethnic group who constituted the Mau Mau. The Kikuyu political leader at the time of the Mau Mau uprising was Jomo Kenyatta. Kenyatta was imprisoned by the British at the time, but they couldn’t definifly connect him to the Mau Mau. However, from the time of independence for Kenya till his death in 1978, President Jomo Kenyatta was as staunch a US ally you could get in Africa. Some Navy vets of the time might remember port calls in Mombasa. Kenya was solidly on the side of the West during the Cold War.
The Kikuyu’s religion was animist, but the vast majority have become Christians over time. The Kikuyu are not Muslim. Thus Obama was not a Kikuyu, and if not a Kikuyu not a Mau Mau.
