From the article:

“Earlier this year state officials sent to local election officials a much smaller list of more than 2,600 voters and asked supervisors to start the process to remove them from the rolls. Supervisors, however, have loudly questioned the accuracy of the list, with one GOP supervisor going on Twitter to show the picture of a U.S. passport of one voter found on the list. Earlier this week two Democratic members of Congress held a press conference with a World War II veteran whose citizenship had been questioned.”

I am ALL FOR getting dead people and non-citizens off the voting rolls!! However, it sounds like the State of Florida might need to develop a double-check system to make sure they aren’t bumping live citizens off the list.

Agreed, but if they’re ineligible live voters, they need to get off the rolls. Eligibility is the issue.

We have one . You have to show picture ID to vote in Florida , DL or state issued ID . All new DL renewals in Florida require you to bring your birth certificate , your passport if you were not born in the USA and or your naturalization papers . If you have had a name change since your birth such as in marriage you are required to bring the certificate proving you were married . If they have pulled these name it is most likely because these people have renewed the DL and shown that they are not eligible to vote here .Voter registration in Florida is also done where they issue your DL and it is now tied to it . THis program started this year as the years progress they will end up finding many more that are not are not suppose to be voting here .

We have a huge problem with non citizens voting , we have a huge problem with northerners who only live here in the winter voting in our elections . These people are turning the tides of the elections in this state . This state for the most part is conservative .

As far as questioning the citizenship of a WWII veteran goes well not all veterans were/are citizens . I have a family member myself who served during WWII as a US Marine and he was not born in this country nor was he a citizen when he served , he had a green card . Don't assume that all veterans are citizens as some of them do have green cards and they are not suppose to vote .Most do end up becoming citizens though

That WWII vet was queried because many years ago, he lied about his age in order to get his drivers license while still underage. So his DMV record did not match his voter registration record, which had is real date of birth.

It was this age discrepancy that flagged the system. And rightly so — the prick would not have received a letter had he not given a false date of birth to the state in the first place.
