Caravans that were to be brought to Beit El will be transferred to the Lachish region, Government Secretary Tzvika Hauser said Friday morning, speaking to MKs Zevulun Orlev and Zeev Elkin. The transfer of the caravans had led to fear that the government was preparing to demolish homes in the Binyamin-area town despite promises to find a way to save the homes.

Hauser’s announcement followed overnight meetings aimed at stopping preparations for demolition. The coalition had agreed not to carry out any preparations until after voting on the Regulation Law, a bill that would legalize the threatened Beit El homes and prevent eviction.

After speaking to Hauser, Orlev updated protesters in Jerusalem of the change.

The caravans had originally been intended for dozens of families expelled from Gush Katif in the 2005 Disengagement. The families are still waiting for the government to finish infrastructure that would allow them to build permanent homes.

IDF soliders need to start rejecting all orders to evict a single Pioneer from their homes.

Pioneers need to develop an effective, non-lethal way of resisting evictions. It would help if the IDF troops were in on it.

Unfortunately, however, for evictions they specifically do not use Jewish soldiers, only Druze, whose religion requires loyalty to the state, not its people. So any sort of collusion between mitnahalim and soldiers is out, as is any mutinee from the soldiers themselves, dubious as that is.

So engage them with weapons when they come!

If there was a chance of success, I might agree. But what that would lead to is an excuse to strafe the yishuvim. There are women and babes there. Usually, they come in the middle of the night, and give no warning. The mitnahalim sleep with digital cameras by their beds, and as a result these disgusting mid-night evictions are getting on You Tube a lot. That might lead to something, although the MSM will ignore these goings on ad infinitum. Perhaps they could also sleep with handcuffs, and fasten themselves to something. I don’t know. These are front-line people, and I can’t make their decisions for them. I 100% admire them, and would help them any way I can.
