I wouldn’t say the Kinsey report is *totally* discredited. I believe that 10% of the prison population might be gay, which was where they got the number.
But I am being facetious. That number has been extrapolated to the public at large, and it amounts to junk science that’s worse than man-made Climate Change.
When I was studying psych the most reliable study was a U of Chicago study which put gay percentage at 3 percent.
I suspect Kinsey got 10% because in prison there are straights using homo-sex as a way to seek sexual release or demonstrate domination. Kinsey no doubt phrased the questions to solicit the desired answers, just like some of the "push-polling" practices in our political races.
