“thanks but no thanks...”? I wasn’t you that won the trip and we don’t care what you would do. We only care what this young boy has done to make his family proud and the fallen soldier’s family grateful.
Why take the wind out of the kid’s magnanimous offer? Read the full story and watch the video. The fallen soldier left behind a wife and 2 year old little girl. This young boy is learning the true nature of generosity and humanity. He’s learning the greater lessons of life. It’s the gesture that counts. We need more kids like this in the world.
Some naysayers want to criticize the gesture. These people seemed to always want to rain on someone else’s parade. Give it a rest.
“This young boy is learning the true nature of generosity and humanity. Hes learning the greater lessons of life. Its the gesture that counts.”
Exactly what I mean. The gesture is enough, is it not? Let the boy enjoy his prize knowing that he at least made the offer to somebody he thought was worthy. Apparently, it was a lesson he had already learned before he’d won the prize unless somebody else put him up to it.
