I have become more sensitive to this issue as my wife of 54 years was diagnosed on March 23 with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia with a positive Philadelphia chromosome. As best as I can tell, there is more money being spent on AIDS research than cancer research. I would probably be correct in assuming there are many more cancer patients than AIDS patients.
I am extremely bitter over the fact that so much money is being spent to help 2 -3 percent of the population.
