I'm expressing my support for the idea that America has nothing to apologize for period. A president I dislike made a stupid comment which merits nothing more than a expression of regret from the Office of the President of the United States.

Folks need to get past their hatred of the bastard and start thinking what is best for the country. Having any president jump through hoops of heartfelt apology, political correctness and just plain silliness is not in the interest of this country.

Your post #49.

I'm expressing my support for the idea that America has nothing to apologize for period. A president I dislike made a stupid comment which merits nothing more than a expression of regret from the Office of the President of the United States.

I had previously commented on the description by Mayor Marion Barry of a certain group of citizens. He used the unfortunate word "Polacks". I felt he should get off lightly. I had quoted from William Shakespeare, who had used the word in his play "Hamlet. Prince of Denmark". Once again I will use a quotation from Shakespeare. It happens to be from the same masterpiece.

This above all to thine own self be true,
And it must follow, as the night the day,
Thou canst not be false to any man.

Polonius:
William Shakespeare's Hamlet.

I do hesitate though, having been fortified with an adult beverage, to go against the general run of views. I simply ask that are we as free thinkers and who agree to disagree, to fall prey to enforcing our own brand of political correctness.?

I concede that it is vital to the free world, that the ideas of the President's men be thrust aside. Vital that who he is, be exposed fairly.

I am going to be sorry for hitting the post button (grin).

You are mostly correct in the principal that "America" has nothing to apologize for. Most if not all here agree with that principal.

However this moment is less to do with "America" than a sovereign country being identified with one of the most abominable atrocity known to mankind. Obama claims that because of his living in a foreign land makes him more sensitive and culturally aware. Having the honor of living abroad even I get that comment. However . . . anyone who knows and understand the people of Poland knows how greatly insulting that remark is.

And . . . its no misspeak when one considers Obama having insulted Poland numerous times in the past 4 years with his dismantling of the missile defense, golfing during the funeral of their beloved President, and making a hit and run visit to their country.

No, these people are pissed off and they have every right to be pissed off with our President

Not even Poland is suggesting that *America* needs to apologize. They, and many of us, are demanding that Obama apologize...for Obama.

Huh? Poland doesn’t want and isn’t asking for an apology from America the country. They aren’t blaming the American people for what obama said. They want an apology from OBAMA for what HE said. Where on earth did you get the idea the Poles want an apology from the American people?
