What a difference from the cowardly douchebag McCain.
This in no way a defense of McCain's miserable campaign, but Romney has a couple of advantages.
First, he has the opportunity to learn from McCain's failure.
Second, McCain was fighting a ghost. Obama presented as a blank slate and invited voters to write their own wishes on the slate. The mass media was culpable in permitting him to get away with this. This time around Obama has a track record. All the media can do is to try to change the subject, which has proved quite difficult, because most Americans are keenly aware of his history. All Romney has to do is keep going back to Obama's track record - a luxury unavailable to McCain.
