Republican super PACs and other outside groups shaped by a loose network of prominent conservatives including Karl Rove, the Koch brothers and Tom Donohue of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce plan to spend roughly $1 billion on Novembers elections for the White House and control of Congress, according to officials familiar with the groups internal operations.
That total includes previously undisclosed plans for newly aggressive spending by the Koch brothers, who are steering funding to build sophisticated, county-by-county operations in key states. POLITICO has learned that Koch-related organizations plan to spend about $400 million ahead of the 2012 elections - twice what they had been expected to commit.
Just the spending linked to the Koch network is more than the $370 million that John McCain raised for his entire presidential campaign four years ago. And the $1 billion total surpasses the $750 million that Barack Obama, one of the most prolific fundraisers ever, collected for his 2008 campaign.

I love it!
Good on the Kotch Bros for making their resources available to elect conservatives to congress.
However... I suggest that everyone skip voting for the socialist romney so as not to make that investment meaningless.
mmmm mmmm mmmm Mmmmoney talks.
Has anyone seen romney reach out to social conservatives yet? ....tick tock tick tock......I only seen the arrogant slap in the face to conservative. He would not attend one, just one event. Why does he keep saying they will vote for me? My feelings for willard are almost equal to obama. He is a Judas and thinks we should turn from what Jesus told us to do and go along with the crowd. Narrow is road...... They think they are getting our money, let alone our vote, they are crazy.
And keep Obama in power. Yep, that makes a whole lot of sense. Wow
really?
Enemy = socialism / socialists
Socialist = Romney and Obama
Opposition to socialism = Conservatives and to a lesser the republican party
We despise obama because he is a socialist.
We despise romney because he is a socialist.
We despise the democrat party because it is the home of socialists.
If the GOP elects a Socialist (romney) it will no longer be opposition to the socialist agenda.
Dont know about you, but I would rather keep the republican party as opposition to the socialists.
Who did they replace him with?
He's not.
Which will barely make a dent in the $100 billion in free advertising disguised as “News” the US Junk media will illegally donate to 0’s campaign.
Whatever it takes. Obama will steal from the U.S. Treasury to get campaign money. He has done that already with his “official” visits that are really campaign stops.
And don’t forget the stimulus—I still believe million$ have been squirreled away for Voter Fraud.
Exactly. The “news” industry, from the dying newspapers to the fake network news to the local tv stations that do their best to be good little Obama toadies give the liberal politicians TONS of free advertising.
That is GREAT news! Was looking for one of Onyx’s WOO HOO.
Throw them all out! IN has the message and apparently so does TX. D & R alike!
Our first choice for president should be “non-socialist” George Washington; since that can’t happen, I guess we all should stay home in November.
Is that right, myself6? Kinda like, “We had to destroy the village in order to save it.”?
Hey, if you want to sit it out, fine. Just don’t come on here trying to get others to do the same, thereby helping Obama get re-elected.
again...
You think Obama is the threat... or the democrat party...
Your suffering from tunnel vision...
Socialism is the threat. Obama is just one of MANY in the democrat party. However, socialism isn’t confined to just the democrat party, it exists within the republican party as well in the form of “RINO’s”, “progressives”, “GOP-e” and ultimately Romney.
If Obama wasn’t a socialist we wouldn’t have a problem with him. If romney wasn’t a socialist we wouldn’t have a problem with him. Socialism is the enemy.
Now, Knowing that socialism is the enemy, and also knowing that the republican party is the ONLY opposition to the socialist agenda (meager as that opposition has become), do you think its a good idea to turn the party over to the socialists within the party and negate the ONLY opposition to advancing socialism?
Hint: A socialist president Romney (R) would have the support of the all but the most steadfast conservatives in the congress. However, those conservatives wouldn’t be needed because there would be an ample supply of socialist democrats that would gleefully vote for romneys socialist agenda along with the less courageous members of the GOP controlled house and senate. Obamacare will become Romneycare and it will be chiseled in F’ing STONE.
Would rather have: A republican party that realized this was going to happen and avoided disaster by getting rid of the socialist prick during the convention. Goes on to win the election and together with a gop controlled congress gets rid of every last shred of obamacare.
Will settle with: A republican party whos socialist candidate was just STUNG with rejection from the conservative base. Which then magnifies the power of the conservative base within the party thus moving the republican party farther to the right and forcing the GOP in congress (hopefully in charge of both houses because we still voted for them) to block and obstruct EVERY LAST SOCIALIST INITIATIVE that the democrats try to pass. AND DEFUND OBAMACARE!
This is exactly what im talking about.
Going back the the right incrementally. No more steps leftward for the GOP. Im sorry, but nominating a socialist is a gigantic leap leftward that wont be recovered from.
To have ANY hope of incrementally taking back the country from the socialists you have to have a GOP that is clean of socialists. Not run by them.
umm... Have you looked at Romneys record of judge appointments? heh... “Supreme Court Justice Eric Holder” is even more possible under Romney because he will have the support of the GOP in congress.
The ONLY folks here that are cutting their wrists are the people who proclaim to hate Obama but will vote for a socialist with an R behind his name. It really makes me wonder exactly WHAT they hate about obama, cause it sure isnt because hes a socialist.
