Precisely. Most rich cheapskates who hate to tip..... They start tipping because the bad publicity hurts them. I read a story how that gay dude who sings for REM stiffed a New York City waitress who was a fan. Michael Stipe and his entourage left her nothing

I was thinking more about the habits people develop that allow them to become rich. Giving money away for publicity purposes or tax reasons is a different ballgame and one based on a calculated benefit to themselves.

Like I say, rich people don’t get rich by being in the habit of giving money away.
