I know Cruz is a good guy and a conservative, but I confess to not knowing jack squat about Dewhurst.
Is he bad? Is he a squish? Or, could conservatives live with him if he ends up the candidate?
Thanks in advance for any reasoned input on the above questions.

Dewhurst has just been a politician for too long in my opinion. These career politicians need to move on. They are part of the problems of today. I voted for Cruz but liked Leppert too.
Dewhurst is conservative in some ways, but he’s first and foremost a politician (one who lied relentlessly about Cruz). As far as I can tell, he’s not a constitutionalist at all; Cruz is, so the choice was easy.
David Dewhurst is an establishment type. If elected, he’d be similar to Kay Bailey Hutchison.
Dewhurst is a career politician that has scammed Texas over and over again.
David Dewhurst=DO NOT WANT!
For me, anyway.

DewCrist sucks. Another RINO Establishment phony & weasel.
Dewhurst has solid support from Austin, very deep financial pockets and IMO is one of the major reasons we ended up with Strauss as Texas House Leader. It would appear that his election staff is largely responsible for all the attack ads coming out about Cruz. We have had no real Conservative senatorial representation from either Hutchinson or Cornyn in a long time. Now that we have an opportunity to partially rectify that situation I hope everyone will vote for Cruz in the runoff. In the meantime I fear it is going to get very, very ugly.
RINO Rick likes Dewhurst.
Read the DMN article about Dewhurst. He hit the Lotto when he found out about the co generation law.
He's trying to strong arm potential Cruz donors by saying that he's not going anywhere if he loses. Dewhurst would still be Lt. Governor for another session and probably would run for and win the governorship in 2014. If a Cruz donor wants any legislation passed, Dewhurst won't help.
