"I feel ... uncomfortable about the word hero because it seems to me that it is so rhetorically proximate to justifications for more war."

I was immediately annoyed after reading the headline the other day on The Blaze. However, I was considerably less annoyed after watching the video and hearing his reason.

I believe his general point had merit. It is his point, not mine and not yours, but his and to that end I believe he should not render an apology for what he believes.

"It is well that war is so terrible -- or we should grow too fond of it." Gen. Robert E. Lee

It’s one thing to say “the US is too quick to go to war”.

It’s quite another to say “I feel uncomfortable describing fallen US soldiers as heroes”.

Beyond being a piece of leftist internationalist trash thinking, it is also really illogical. The fallen soldiers almost never have a say (other than the say any voter has or doesn’t have) in whether the US goes to war or not.
