I really wonder if we shouldn’t bring back the draft. The all volunteer military seems to have provided a superior military, but a far flabbier civilian corps. I don’t see how we really survive when the vast majority of the American public has ‘no skin in the game.’
No, keep the military volunteer. It is more effective that way, and the world is dangerous.
