Shamed, Civil Beat Revises 'Fact' Check Questioning Djou's Afghanistan Combat Record

Even after “updating” a May 17 ‘Fact’ Check which this writer characterized as "taking three sentences from an hour-long May 1 Rick Hamada interview with Afghanistan combat veteran Rep. Charles Djou, twisting Djou's words into a pretzel and fact-checking statements Djou did not make", Civil Beat is still lying about Charles Djou’s Afghanistan combat record and his votes in Congress relating to that war. (See article below.)

Shamed into retracting their “false” rating, Civil Beat on Friday shifted to a “half-true”. In spite of the shift, the “half-true” rating remains a lie which hangs on a single sentence of willful ignorance.

TOPICS: News/Current Events; Politics/Elections; US: Hawaii
KEYWORDS: 201205; 20120501; afghanistan; charlesdjou; civilbeat; combatrecord; djou; factcheck; factcheckers; hawaii; liberal; omidyar; politifact
Ever wonder why one party Hawaii stays that way? It comes from publications such as Hawaii CivilBeat owned by eBay founder Pierre Omidyar. In this episode of stretched "Politifact," another publication, Hawaii Free Press, called out CivilBeat for an outright falsehood when saying that congressional candidate Charles Djou made a false claim as to his congressional voting record.

Hawaii is controlled by a media (and a certain Blue colored party) that, when they cannot find facts, will create lies about those that would challenge their progressive and liberal agenda.

Djou is a former congressman again running for his old seat. He voted in favor of Afghanistan while in Congress and also served over there recently, thus he claimed to back up his vote by serving and was the only one to do so in Congress.

Civilbeat was trying to discredit him by saying he lied.

I see your point now about the media in Hawaii being totally left
that really is pretty despicable, what they are doing to that Djou
despicable but not surprising

Mark Kirk also voted for the war in Afghanistan and served in Afghanistan.
