(Click on link to see the priceless video!)Senate hopeful Elizabeth Warren, in a sequel to an awkward on-camera encounter this week about her claim to Native American heritage, bolted from a campaign event yesterday, refusing to answer a Herald reporters questions about the controversy.
Moments after giving the keynote speech at the Young Democrats of Massachusetts convention, Warren and her handlers hustled out a rear exit of the SEIU 1199 offices in Dorchester. She climbed into the passenger side of an SUV and closed the door as a Herald reporter asked her a question and a photographer rolled video.
Professor Warren, were with the Herald. Can you ... a Herald reporter said to Warren as she hopped into the car.
Shes got to get going. Im sorry, a man who ushered Warren out of the building said. Sorry, were running late.
The man then apologized for earlier closing two stairwell doors on the Herald crew while it was hot on the heels of Warren and her entourage as they hustled out of the building.
I didnt know you were behind me, he said.
Warrens spokeswoman, Alethea Harney, declined to say where the candidate was headed after the Dorchester event.
Earlier this week, Warren repeatedly dodged on-camera questions about her ancestry from a Fox 25 reporter, responding instead with talking points about her campaign and its emphasis on middle-class families.
Yesterdays SUV exit evoked memories of the great escape U.S. Sen. John Kerry pulled off in the summer of 2010, when he slammed a car door on a pack of newshounds eager to know how he would pony up the Massachusetts taxes on a $7 million yacht hed docked in Rhode Island.
Can I get out of here, please? Kerry said to the media scrum that day, after an event at the former South Weymouth Naval Air Station.
Harney said Warrens campaign was unaware that the Herald crew had attended yesterdays event. A Herald reporter and photographer identified themselves by name and affiliation to event staff at the door and stated their intention to speak with Warren after her address.
The campaign declined to make Warren available by telephone later in the day, and instead released the same statement it put out Friday, when U.S. Sen. Scott Brown urged Harvard University to correct its records for the years it has reported having a Native American woman on its law school staff.
The Herald broke the story last month that Harvard Law counted Warren as a minority hire and touted her Native American roots. The New England Historic Genealogical Society has found nothing to prove her claim that she is 1⁄32 Cherokee a claim she says is based on generations of family lore.
She’s a rookie, first run for office. As Howie C has suggested, Scott ran for selectman, then state Rep, then state Senator and finally Senator. Liz is jumping right in with U.S. Senator and yes she does have a bit of a record. But this is her first political run. If she had addressed it head on it would have died by now. The longer she avoids confronting it—and perhaps using her “Cherokee heritage” to get jobs—the tougher it will be in the election. I’m almost thinking of taking a Dem ballot (I am unenrolled) and voting for her opponent, Marisa DeFranco
Fauxchontas.....LIEawatha......TYPICAL Democrat.
If she should lose, we can feel really bad because she’d have to fall back on her one-course teaching at Harvard for $350k/yr (she has denied being rich though)
...and the liberal media continues to ignore this story...while they paint Romney as a homophobe.
...Obama is shown to have used a claim that he was born in Kenya, probably for university affirmative action, and the media ignores this bomb.
...and the Catholic Church steps up to defend the establishment clause...and the media ignores the law suit.
...can you say “corrupt”?
She learned this from the Clintons; BJ could never be exposed to unscripted questions because of his girlfriends, and this became even more pressing after the Paula Jones/Monica thing. If they didn’t have a friendly media, every question would have been about what he did with Monica, or why he flashed Paula. In the end he paid $890K to settle the Jones lawsuit, and today many people act like it never happened (or try to cover up the crime - lewdness, sexual assault - albeit non-physical) or cover it up with “better” story about how Monica was a personal matter.
Just think about what anyone here would be charged with if we just pulled it out on some unsuspecting victim.

makes a hasty retreat in Blazing Saddles
She’s not a vetted ‘American Indian’ yet she ‘allegedly’ checked the boxes off at Penn and Harvard. I don’t think she can even admit she’s not an Indian now....
There was talk about breaking Federal law by checking boxes to claim minority status - trouble for both the universities and her. I’ve looked around for any penalties but got lost in the government websites...anyone have a link?
If she admits to lying, or takes a DNA test to prove she’s lying I would think Harvard would need to Fire Her.
She’s going to run this right into the ground.
Will the dems call us racist if we don’t support her?
That’s why she says she was told by her mother, etc. that she was Cherokee. Her attitude is, hey I was always told this
so I’m going by that.
Marisa Wasserman-Shulz DeFranco?
Now, if Marisa Tomei were on the ballot....
Don’t know, but I deserve respect myself, as a Native American.*

American
Beware of women with four names...
If only!
Is this enough to beat this witch? I mean Scott Brown is Incumbent and sort of liberal. There must be some prople in Massachusetts who are repelled ands repulsed by this Faux-co-hont-ass
>>sort of liberal.
Which, in MA, helps him. Many unenrolleds. Some are
fiscal conservative/social liberal. Some are the other way around. It will be tough though, esp. with liberal media
and the fact that many Obama-nites will come out to vote for
him and then click the box for Warren, too.
Scott Brown needs to bone up on the “when your opponent is self-destructing, stand back and let it happen” rule. IMHO his call for Harvard to correct the record is piling on and that can backfire. He has the Herald and Howie hot on the trail - strike that - on the warpath, and need not get involved.
Wasserman-Shulz isn’t a name, it’s an epithet.
