I find it a good mental math discipline and exercise to think in both metric and imperial terms. I don’t mind it a bit. Shut down imperial measure and they’ll be selling us ten eggs for the same price as today’s dozen.

What really stuns me is how many kids these days do not know what 12 times 12 is and have never heard of a “gross”...and look at you funny if you ask for a half dozen of something or a dozen and a half.

Same here,don't mind either.

However,I buy a lot of guitar parts from America and they persist in giving measurements like 1.864 inches etc whereas 50mm (or whatever the hell 1.864 inches is!)would be far easier.

Every time I read the specs I have to have the steel rule under the magnifying glass trying to suss out what the hell 2.446x1.862 inches is in millimeters.It's a royal pain.
