In a country with justice, this guy would be hard-pressed to get a good job.
Though, sadly, you are absolutely correct. Something like this is indeed a resume enhancer for a Democrat. Just look at John Edwards. (well I don’t literally mean look at the Breck girl)

Political suicide for a Republican; resume enhancement for a Democrat. One of the Republican primary candidates for this seat left the race and resigned his seat in the SC Legislature after being arrested for harassing his girlfriend.
Must be something in the water.

As a Democrat in South Carolina, he has a legacy to uphold--it's the state John Jenrette (D) represented until he got caught in the ABSCAM scandal. He allegedly had sex with his then-wife on the Capitol steps.
Apparently his ex-wife is now married to an Italian prince.
